Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan
The Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP) is a Federal Government institution established to promote legal reform and ensure the effective administration of justice. It is chaired by the Chief Justice of Pakistan and includes as members the Chief Justices of the High Courts, the Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court, the Attorney General for Pakistan, the Secretary of the Ministry of Law and Justice, and the Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women.
In addition, the Commission includes four other members, one from each province, appointed by the Federal Government on the recommendation of the Chairman in consultation with the Chief Justice of the respective High Court. These members are drawn from among individuals who have held judicial or administrative office, distinguished lawyers or jurists, respected members of civil society, scholars from the Council of Islamic Ideology, or law professors from recognized institutions.
