Eligible and deserving litigants may also apply for free legal aid by submitting an application addressed to the Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council, using the prescribed application proforma provided above.

How to Apply for Free Legal Aid?

An eligible person may apply for free legal aid by submitting an application on plain paper or by using the application form provided above. The application must include details of the case, the applicant’s name, parentage, address, telephone number, and other necessary particulars. Use of the prescribed application form is optional.

District Courts Tier: Applications should be submitted to the concerned District and Sessions Judge (D&SJ).
High Courts and Supreme Court Tier: Applications should be submitted to the concerned Additional Registrar.
A convicted prisoner or a person in judicial custody may also submit an application through the Superintendent of the concerned jail for onward transmission to the relevant forum.

The relevant committee shall examine the applications received. After scrutiny of the particulars and supporting documents, a decision shall be made regarding the provision of free legal aid to eligible and deserving applicants. Applicants are required to complete the application form in all respects and attach all requisite supporting documents.

Note:
Use of the prescribed application form is optional. Applications may also be submitted on plain paper.
