Provincial Judicial Development Fund Window

  • automation of the courts;
  • court infrastructure;
  • information kiosks;
  • provision of court-related conveniences and amenities to the litigants; and
  • performance reward for the subordinate judiciary on the basis of supervision reports and recommendations submitted by the inspection team of the High Courts.
Funding Mechanism
 
The Governing Body shall allocate 60.3% share of the income generated on the Fund to the Provincial Judicial Development Fund (PJDF) for the purposes specified in clause (a) of rule 10 of the AJDF Rules.
 
  • A Provincial Judicial Development Fund hereinafter called PJDF shall be established by the High Court of each Province. The amount allocated to the PJDF Window shall be transferred to an account of High Court opened in the Bank to meet the needs of the subordinate courts as may be determined by the High Court as specified in clause (a) of rule 10 of the AJDF Rules.
  • The High Court shall send half yearly and annual verified expenditures to the Commission.

Provincial Judicial Development Fund Window

Performance of the Window:

It is the main window of Access to Justice Development Fund (AJDF) having maximum share allocation i.e.60.3% out of the profit. The aim of this window is to support the subordinate judiciary in the provinces for infrastructure and amenities apart of the regular budget so that litigants and court may be benefitted in providing justice at door step- easy and inexpensive justice.

Since 2005, a major milestone has been achieved in provision of basic facilities in subordinate courts like sheds for litigants, drinking water facilities, ceiling and pedestal fans, waiting areas, provision of computers, printers and other equipments necessary for disposal of workload, etc. The funding through PJDF helped in facilitating the process of deciding cases in convenient and accessible way for all. The process of funding is continue as per share allocation with the object that the subordinate courts would become fully equipped and moderate in providing ac accessible justice and promoting rule of law in the society as well in the country.
